You can add Whitmoyer in Mt Joy, PA. I confirmed with the sales manager but assumed it would be the case. Also with GM’s recent note to dealers I hope there aren’t too many that are trying the market adjustment BS.

My guess is that nobody will know until Silverado EVs start showing up on showroom floors, whenever that happens. I don’t trust any projection dates as unexpected things happen.

Allie; The offer is great but as i found out with Ford each dealer has limited allocations. So if i move from what i think is front of line at current dealer will that increase your allocation? If not waiting addiotnal year to save 5% might not be such a deal. Can you please clarify?

Hi, thanks for reaching out!
As of now, GM has not disclosed how allocation will be handled.

So, I was just at our local new car show (Orlando), sponsored by the dealer's association. I stopped by the Chevrolet area, hoping to see a Silverado EV model. No joy. They did have 2 EV car models on a platform, but you could not get near them. Not impressive, nor was the $85,000 MSRP for an ICE Tahoe.

I asked the presenter/brand rep about how GM is addressing the obscene dealer markups. He basically said there is nothing that GM can do if the dealer wants to mark up the vehicle. Then he suggested the approach to search for a dealer in a smaller town that didn't charge a mark-up.

I pointed out the irony from the customers perspective to have to shun your convenient, in-town dealers and both hunt for, and travel to a small-town dealer to avoid paying these obscene mark-ups.

Currently, I can buy a new Corvette. I recently built one on Chevy's website (mostly base model), and the website announced there was an exact model at a local dealer. When I clicked over to the dealer's website, sure enough, there it was, with a $20,000 additional dealer mark up.

I will NEVER pay a markup, and I am getting turned off to the brand that I've been buying for 20+ years. Heck, I have 2 GM vehicles now (Z51 Corvette and Camaro SS). I'll never visit that local dealer to check out ANY vehicle. Dealers: do you see how that works?

It is good to have representatives like Allie come on and state the terms that were normal not too long ago for their dealership, but something is structurally wrong. Maybe it will pass as the pandemic gets further away in the rear-view mirror, but I'm not holding my breath.

Luckily, I don't NEED a new car, and can repair mine. This doesn't bode well for the Silverado EV.
