Thatās what Iām afraid might happen. I have an RST reservation. The estimated MSRP is pushing my budget to its absolute limit. Any increase and itās game over for me.
I have a friend pretty high up on the GM org chart. I donāt think he has direct knowledge but he thinks theyāll hold the line...
Not saying Iād do it but Iām curious. I have a friend with a Hummer EV due any time now. Heās telling about people offering insane amounts for it.
Is that even legal? What is the process? You take delivery and then turn around and sell it as used? Take delivery but title it to somebody else...
Iām not talking about growing pains. Iām talking about weeks long stays in Service waiting for a call back from Ford because they donāt know how to preform a required recall. Iām talking about 43 days lost use in 7 months of ownership beginning the day after delivery. Iām talking about absence...
Itās been over a year since I ordered my Mach-E. Seven months since I took delivery. Through it all Iāve fought through one snafu after another. Missed deadlines, bad information and just plain silence over one glitch after another.
I havenāt owned a GM product in decades. Please tell me I can...
Good decision. My MME is the most bug infested machine with the worst support I have ever encountered. Thatās coming from somebody who has had one and sometimes two Fords in my garage for over four decades. That is over now.
I havenāt canceled yet but I probably will. As close as the Rivian price is now to the SEV, itās tough to justify 316 vs 400 mi range, 400v vs 800v charging and Driver+ vs Supercruise.
Iām not sure I can afford either but the Rivian has become a tough sell.
on edit: R1S cancelled
Its near my hometown and Iām very familiar with the previous van plant. The local utilities have done a ton of infrastructure upgrades. Thereās also been a lot of hiring. Local scuttle butt is that itās ahead of schedule but Iāve never heard a firm date.
A friend of almost 40 years, far enough up the GM corporate ladder to know, told me this could improve my early delivery chances. He couldnāt give me a number. I suggested early ā23. He didnāt say yes but he didnāt say no either.
Iām not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV. ā¦..
Chevrolet is a trademark worth billions of $. GM owns it. I donāt think itās price fixing for them to maintain some control over the use of that trademark.
I just heard from an inside source that this dealership got 6 of the earliest RST reservations in addition to mine. Any of those other 6 on this forum?
I read similar discussions about my Mustang Mach-E. Some people really got worked up about it.
I donāt get it. āSilveradoā and āMustangā are both trademarks. Their owners can hang the names on a shopping cart it they want.
Ditto. I reserved within the first minute or so. Every image I saw was blue. When nothing said otherwise I kind of assumed thatās what I was reserving.
No big deal though. Iām much more concerned with price and delivery date.
I have a friend with an early Hummer EV reservation. His only...
I too have both Rivian and Silverado reservations. The Rivian ante was $1,000, also refundable. Itās too easy to cough up $100 you know you can get back. The fall off rate will be huge.
