  1. Silverado EV dimensions for 2nd row

So what is the lifespan of the typical dachshund? It could be you don't have to worry about that anyway.
  2. Successful deposit refunds?

I thought I would report my cancellation experience. I went to the reservation website and did the cancellation process, giving them the info on the credit card I used to make the reservation. Then I waited, not knowing what to expect. I did get a call and text thanking me for enquiring about...
  3. Window of demand for Silverado EV closing?

That's an alarming angle. Your local (Central Florida?) dealer has so little loyalty, faith, optimism, foresight, belief (etc, etc) in his own product that he is cancelling reservations as a "favor" to his customers. Not only is he pessimistic about the future if EV's, he is contributing to what...
  4. Window of demand for Silverado EV closing?

A car is not a refrigerator and a truck is not a car. People have an emotional attachment to their cars, especially their trucks. I'm sure GM / Chevy understand this after making cars for a century. When I think of all the tens of thousands of reservations and all the disappointment it makes me...
  5. Window of demand for Silverado EV closing?

I wonder if all the guys (and girls) waiting patiently for their Silverado EV's are bothered by production getting pushed back. It seems like all the talk of hundreds of thousands of them being made was just wrong. I don't think buyers were deliberately mislead, but maybe a little bit. 18 of...
  6. Dealer called me today.

This is from Autoblog: GM delivered 19 Blazers and 18 Silverados in the third quarter and that's the entirety of their production runs so far. 18 is better than nothing.
  7. Buying A Rivian Instead Of A Silverado EV

I have a Rivian now, so I don't really have a pony in the Silverado EV show. But I've kept my reservation. I still check the web site frequently to see if something has happened. Too frequently. It's like watching a slug crossing the lawn and looking at it to see if it has moved and it hasn't...
  8. Not getting my deposit refunded

It's too bad the big news on the Silverado EV forum is if people are getting their deposits back. Where is the news about the Silverado EV?
  9. Buying A Rivian Instead Of A Silverado EV

I activated Alexa in my Rivian. I use Alexa at home, mostly for my shopping list. I avoid services that I have to pay for when possible. I like Pandora. So the truck does have voice communication hardware. We just need the software to use it. Like a lot of things. That's what updates are for.
  10. Buying A Rivian Instead Of A Silverado EV

A month or two ago there was a flurry of Silverado EV Work Truck test drives. They were mostly extremely positive. The big problem is that you just can't get one. I gave up and bought a Rivian R1T. It's a fun car that I like a lot. I call it a car because it's not really what you call a truck...
  11. Successful deposit refunds?

I've been reading horror stories of difficulties getting deposits refunded. I'm wondering if there are any success stories. Has anyone had their deposit refunded promptly and effortlessly? I probably won't be getting a Silverado because I bought a Rivian and I'm happy with it. There's still a...
  12. Not getting my deposit refunded

When I paid the deposit, it wasn't clear where the money was going. If it went to the dealer, then the dealer should refund it. Is the dealer saying that the money didn't go to them? This would be a problem if people start cancelling their reservations. I plan on keeping my reservation for now.
  13. Silverado EV spotted in Metro Detroit

There is something fishy about that. Somebody just happens to be passing through an upscale Detroit neighborhood and spots a truck that doesn't exist in somebody's driveway. First of all, you don't pass through a neighborhood like that unless you are lost or have business there. It seems staged...
  14. "Real" timetable for Silverado EV availability

I posted a few weeks ago about "milestones". Silverado EVs must be rolling off the assembly line because there are a bunch of them and they all look alike. It's still Spring, too. For a few more days. So some of the milestones have been reached. I posted somewhere that it could happen suddenly...
  15. "Real" timetable for Silverado EV availability

Here's what my new car looks like. Eat your heart out Chevrolet. It just happened that they had one ready in Georgia. Somebodys misfortune was good for me.
  16. Ready to give up

I made my reservation in August. There have been around 170,000 total reservations so I figure I'm around 150,000. I expected to wait at least a year and I was fully prepared for that. According to what I've heard, they will produce the Silverado initially at Factory Zero ("beginning in the...
  17. Ready to give up

You can hope all you want, but after a while reality sets in. I've watched as dates come and go and nothing happens. I recently sold a house in Salt Lake. I could buy a Silverado now and pay cash. I plan on paying cash because I'm over 70 and I don't want to be saddled with a huge car payment at...
  18. GM EVs will adopt Tesla's NACS standard beginning in 2025!

Does this mean it would be smart to wait until 2025 to get a Silverado EV?
  19. "Real" timetable for Silverado EV availability

There are two milestones that I am eager to hear about. The first is when the Silverado EV Work Truck for fleets starts rolling off the assembly line. That was supposed to happen in May. I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe it's because it didn't happen. The second is when the first WT's are...
  20. "Real" timetable for Silverado EV availability

GM made news today by announcing that the Silverado EV will have 450 miles of range. Below is an excerpt from an article which says production should start this month. This is good news for patient forum members. If GM wants deliveries to start "later in the spring" they will have to hurry. One...
